Nelson Mandela Day is a day celebrated in honour of Nelson Mandela, internationally each year on Mandela’s birthday- July 18th. The day was declared by the United Nations 1o years ago, in November 2009, with the first official Mandela Day held on 18 July 2010.
Traditionally one is encouraged to give 67 minutes acting on the idea that each person has the power to change the world. Reflecting the 67 years Mr. Mandela spent making the world a better place.
The year 6 classes of Blouberg International School took on a donation drive for Table View Angels. Many of the classes reached and exceeded the challenge target of 67 items per class. Collecting Over 2300 non-perishable items.
Blouberg International, located in Parklands, is the only international co-educational school on the West Coast. They offer the British National Curriculum with international benchmarks from Cambridge University, equipping students for life and further education in Colleges and Universities all over the world.
